Overview

A sacred land of myths and mysteries inhabited by the ever smiling people, has not only exerted a magnetic pull upon travelers for centuries but also spies, missionaries, scholars, geographers, mystics, soldiers, hippies and cranks. Yet, only a few intrepid, serious and determined have been able to make it.

The Kathmandu Valley, where the capital of Nepal is located, is surrounded by mountains and shaped like a bowl. It is composed of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. The Kathmandu Valley is located between India and Tibet, on the southern slope of the Himalayas. The natural barrier of the Himalayas shields the valley from the cold wind from the north, and the warm current of the Indian Ocean flows in from the south. The unique geographical environment makes the annual average temperature around 20℃, with a pleasant climate, bright sunshine, lush trees, flowers in full bloom all year round so it has the reputation of “paradise in the mountains” and is a world-famous tourist attraction. In 1979, seven groups of historical sites in the Kathmandu Valley were included in the “World Heritage List”, including the Durbar Squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, the Hindu temples of Pashupatinath, Changunarayan Temple, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Boudhanath

Pokhara, often referred to as the Jewel of Nepal, is a breathtakingly beautiful city nestled in the lap of the **Annapurna Himalayas**. Located about 200 km west of Kathmandu, it is renowned for its tranquil lakes, stunning mountain views, and vibrant adventure scene. The city’s most famous attraction, Phewa Lake, offers a mesmerizing reflection of Annapurna, Machapuchare (Fishtail), and Dhaulagiri, making it a perfect spot for boating and relaxation. Other serene lakes, such as Begnas Lake and Rupa Lake, provide peaceful retreats away from the city’s hustle.

Pokhara is also known as Nepal’s adventure capital**, drawing thrill-seekers from around the world. Paragliding over Phewa Lake, with the Himalayas as a backdrop, is an unforgettable experience, while ultralight flights offer a bird’s-eye view of the entire valley. For those looking for an adrenaline rush, bungee jumping, zip-lining, and white-water raftingare among the most popular activities. The city is also the starting point for some of Nepal’s most iconic treks, including Annapurna Base Camp, Poon Hill, and the Ghorepani trek, making it a hub for trekkers and nature lovers alike.

Beyond adventure, Pokhara is rich in **culture and spirituality**. The **World Peace Pagoda**, perched on a hilltop, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city and the Himalayas, while Bindhyabasini Temple, one of the oldest Hindu temples in the region, attracts devotees and tourists alike. Hidden beneath the surface, Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave houses a sacred Shiva temple near Davis Falls, an underground waterfall that adds to the mystical charm of the city.
